Code Crackers

For code crackers I am in the highest list / group, so we work independently on set work our teacher has given us.

Ella, Kale'a, Josie, Rori, Ivy, and Abhay are also in the group. 

We have a list of words we have to choose from, that we have to, find the definition, syllables, vowels, consonants, prefixes, suffixes, synonyms and antonyms for the word.

Picasso art

 On Tuesday, our regular teachers weren't at school, so our class had relief teachers.

Moana 1 (my class) had Kōka Kathleen and Moana 2 had Kōka Katie! 

Moana 1 did Picasso art and Moana 2 did Sandra Silberzweig art.

We did the Picasso art in steps,the steps were: we had to pick a head, nose, mouth and side profile out of different Picasso art shapes!

          

Sentence Starters

The teachers make sentence starters so we can use them in our quick-writes! 

My sentence starter for this week was: Have you ever...

This my quick-write: 

 Have you ever shrunk to the size of  matchstick, had to eat half of a grape for breakfast and temporarily live in your dolls house! Well I have and it all started last Monday...

"Olearia", Mum was calling me, "OLEARIA", Mum was shouting now. "I'm right here Mum",I called back, "I'm still in bed". I lifted my eye mask off,my room looked bigger than normal, Mum walked into my room, she looked bigger too.That was when I realised that my room had not got bigger it was me who had shrunk.Mum walked into my room she picked me up and said,"What happened to you?", she then fainted onto the ground.

"MUM",I shouted, "WAKE UP THIS INSTANT". She didn't wake up though. So in the end I just went into my dolls house and got changed into the clothes I made for my dolls. Wait I heard on the news that there was disease going around called: Shrinkaphobia, this must be what I have! Wait they, were saying something else. They were saying that they cannot find a cure to Shrinkaphobia and that there was never ever going to be one!!!!NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO! I didn't even get to highschool !!!!! I didn't even get a married Nooooooooooooo!

Orange Investigations

 This week for L3 Strand maths, we had to make a slide to show that we have been learning about oranges for the past few weeks! You might think that, that is a crazy thing to learn about in a maths workshop, but we actually learnt a lot about: volume, capacity, length, average and mass!

This week in L3 writing we had to write poems about penguins turning into dragons!🐧🐉

We had to write them because our term topic for term 2 is: the Little Blue Penguins.

This is my poem.

Something I don't desire!

I'm waddling through the fluffy snow, to get to my straw like home, when I arrive, something strives to try and eat me as a meal, but suddenly I feel tall and wide something rush's up inside!

I open my beak to say don't peek but, I'm far out of reach! I'm in a cloud, I cannot even see the ground!

I look down but all I see are my scaly wings, wait did I used to have these?

I cough out smoke and burp out fire this is something I don't desire!

Aurora writing workshop

I got chosen along with other kids from other schools and two other girls in my class for a creative writing workshop by Aurora! We went to Eastwoodhill arboretum in term 1 and wrote  lots of words about Eastwoodhill, then in term 2 we went to holy trinity church to turn our words into poems!

Kawa of Care Learning

 On Tuesday, our teachers told us that we had 30 minutes, in pairs 

to complete an information poster about caring for our chromebooks.

I sent some of my bitmoji's (an emoji that looks like yourself) that related to the topic, so that I could use them on the poster.
