Just Dance

Coming back from lock down MLH did Just Dance which is an active video game
where you copy some people dancing on the screen who have practised the
same dance over and over again until they have mastered it on a
green screen and on camera, so during Friday Discovery time Ella,Josephine,
Esther and I decided to take a Just Dance group!

We learnt how to use the projector and added some songs that we liked.

One of my favourite Just Dances is: Waka Waka (4 players) one movement was
we had to form a bicycle the first time we formed it (on Monday) we all
collapsed on the floor in exhaustion and at the end I had to jump on
everyone's arms and everyone dropped me on the ground because they didn’t
know what to do! But we mastered it in the end and we felt really amazing
(mainly because we didn’t feel horrible).

Another one of my favorite songs and Just Dances came on: Timber! I am
always the girl and my friend Ella is the panda bear because I have to jump
on her back at the end!! (we mastered it the first time and now we know it
off by heart!)
At the end of Discovery Time, Josephine, Esther, Ella and I got to hand out
Shine Cards which are little cards that you get when you are showing the
school values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Independence and a
Positive Attitude (We felt so grown up!)

I really recommend Just Dance to you

MLH Learning From Home

On the 25th of March, school ended and we had to go into lockdown.

MLH had theme weeks for learning from home.

There wasn't a theme week for week 1 we were just getting into learning from home.

The 2nd week was ANZAC themed because ANZAC day was coming up,on the Friday Google Meet we had to dress up as poppies!

The 3rd week was called Animal Kingdom. I chose to study cheetahs and got to dress up as a cheetah on the Friday Google Meet.

Week 4 was called World Famous I chose Frida Kahlo and got to dress up as her on the Friday Google Meet.

Last but not least, Story Time. I chose Harry Potter and on the Friday Google Meet I dressed up as Hermione Granger.

My favourite 2 weeks were Story Time and World Famous my least favourite themes were ANZAC and Animal Kingdom.

We had to go back to school on the 18th of May I was soooooooooo excited to see my friends but sad that we could only do air hugs :(

Exploding sherbet

Today we had another science box! Today our science box about sweet and sour,  Koka Rozie  exclaimed(Koka Rozie is our teacher) get into groups of 3 there wasn't' enough people for 3 in each group so I had to make a group of 4 (Amber Kale'a Alice and me were a group ). Koka Rozie  gave each group the instructions and ingredients we went to a table group we read the instructions and got started first it said to to put 1/2 tsp citric acid in a paper bag then we put 1/2 tsp of flavour ,1/4 tsp of Baking soda and 1 tsp of icing sugar(X How many people are making it ) we all got a tsp of it each I thought it was going to be yum so I put the whole teaspoon in my mouth I really regretted it because at first it tasted yum but  the moment it touched my saliva it starting foaming up in my mouth and I found myself trying to hold all of it in my mouth! I ran to the tap , I swallowed all  of the foam down my throat I stuffed a whole lot of water that felt better ! I accidentally burped and all of what I just ate came out of my nose (well it felt like it ).

Te Tapuwae O Rongokako marine reserve

My class went to  Te Tapuwae O Rongokako marine  reserve  and I learned a lot  of things...

.that marine reserves are very important to protect marine animals.

.That Te Tapuwae O Rongokako was created as a marine reserve by the  local iwi in gisborne because there was not enough sea life and people were taking  too much

.That Te Tapuwae O Rongokako Will only be a  marine reserve for 25 years because DOC didn't decide that That Te Tapuwae O Rongokako Will  be a marine reserve so in , 5 years time there will be a decision if Doc will move the boundary or it will won't be a marine reserve  any more.

I saw so many marine animals crayfish, poua ,kina + lots of other marine animals and i think it is very important to keep Te Tapuwae o Rongokako  as a marine reserve  because in 5 years if we decide that Te Tapuwae o Rongokako  won't be a marine reserve then there won't be enough kai moana left in the moana .so that is  why we should keep Te Tapuwae o Rongokako as a marine reserve.
