Exploding sherbet

Today we had another science box! Today our science box about sweet and sour,  Koka Rozie  exclaimed(Koka Rozie is our teacher) get into groups of 3 there wasn't' enough people for 3 in each group so I had to make a group of 4 (Amber Kale'a Alice and me were a group ). Koka Rozie  gave each group the instructions and ingredients we went to a table group we read the instructions and got started first it said to to put 1/2 tsp citric acid in a paper bag then we put 1/2 tsp of flavour ,1/4 tsp of Baking soda and 1 tsp of icing sugar(X How many people are making it ) we all got a tsp of it each I thought it was going to be yum so I put the whole teaspoon in my mouth I really regretted it because at first it tasted yum but  the moment it touched my saliva it starting foaming up in my mouth and I found myself trying to hold all of it in my mouth! I ran to the tap , I swallowed all  of the foam down my throat I stuffed a whole lot of water that felt better ! I accidentally burped and all of what I just ate came out of my nose (well it felt like it ).

Te Tapuwae O Rongokako marine reserve

My class went to  Te Tapuwae O Rongokako marine  reserve  and I learned a lot  of things...

.that marine reserves are very important to protect marine animals.

.That Te Tapuwae O Rongokako was created as a marine reserve by the  local iwi in gisborne because there was not enough sea life and people were taking  too much

.That Te Tapuwae O Rongokako Will only be a  marine reserve for 25 years because DOC didn't decide that That Te Tapuwae O Rongokako Will  be a marine reserve so in , 5 years time there will be a decision if Doc will move the boundary or it will won't be a marine reserve  any more.

I saw so many marine animals crayfish, poua ,kina + lots of other marine animals and i think it is very important to keep Te Tapuwae o Rongokako  as a marine reserve  because in 5 years if we decide that Te Tapuwae o Rongokako  won't be a marine reserve then there won't be enough kai moana left in the moana .so that is  why we should keep Te Tapuwae o Rongokako as a marine reserve.

Perimeter name art

Hi, my name is Rio and this term we learnt about the perimeter of things. First we started by drawing our names on Squared paper.Once we coloured our names in we had to find the perimeter of our names which I  found it a bit challenging but I succeeded.

have you ever measured any thing ? well we measured  the perimeter of our names!
